About the initiative

Young Community Leaders Initiative aka “YCLI” is a monthly mentor-ship program geared at identifying and raising local community leaders within Kaduna State, Nigeria and molding them into leadership role at grassroot to global space.

The initiative is a monthly one day meeting of engagement and capacity building of selected young community leaders not above 30 years from diverse local communities and diverse background in Kaduna State. The initiative brings together arrays of young people in diversity to learn, share and be active citizens from the grass root. It is our belief that this initiative will spring strong local actors on time and galvanize young energy into leadership role from the grass root to global stage.

This program is a one way initiative to educate participant about SDGs and also attempt to keep young people from joining violent extreme groups in our local communities by giving them identity and platforms of expression.
